Our Work

Here at CNC and Laser we love to take on unique and bespoke projects, as well as providing an efficient service for the core aspects of CNC Machining.

Below are some past projects we have had the pleasure of being involved in, and able to bring ideas and plans of clients to fruition.

Developing Joints

We developed a technique to achieve dovetail joints using a combination of CNC Machining as well as utilising the C02 laser to achieve a well crafted joint that not only looks stunning, but one that is also repeatable on a large scale in a fraction of the time compared to traditional methods.

Here the joint is showcased on napkin holders for a clients restaurant in Teak.

The Staircase

This staircase was designed, manufactured and assembled in house.

The client required a staircase to access the mezzanine floor in their studio apartment.

They specified a small footprint but also practical use of space, and so we loaded it with storage including a cupboard on the left hand side risers.

Pebbles

Pebbles was a project that already had a beautiful concept and design.

The pebbles are machined in 9 different sized  layers of birch ply, stacked together and meticulously sanded by hand to achieve an organic soft touch.

Here at CNC and Laser, we were able to adapt the existing technical drawings to greatly increase not only efficieny in the manufacturing of the rings, and ease of production but also increase the volume of pebbles that we were able to cut out of one sheet of birch plywood yielding more product for the client from the same amount of material.

Signage

This one metre square (circle) sign was carved into handsome Fumed Oak for a client's local nuttery farm.

Finished and sealed with a Satin sheen top oil, it is going to look beautiful on the gates of the nuttery for years to come.

Framing the View

Engraving is our specialty, and we love taking on unique and challenging projects. Recently, we had the pleasure of working with a sculptor to create a large one-of-a-kind piece.

We were presented with six 4foot posts, and were asked to engrave the title of the installation into them in the artists hand writing.

A surprisingly complex task, we created custom hold downs and machining strategies to be able to engrave these posts accurately.

Learn more about our custom engraving services and how we can help bring your vision to life.

The Cube

This cube was assembled using a giant mitre jointer cutter from Wealden Tools here in Kent.

You wouldn't guess it is made from 6 separate panels joined seamlessly together

We are using this strategy to create a series of plinths and shelving units for upcoming clients
